School Clinic
School Clinic Overview
To meet the growing mental health needs of students, Calhoun Psychology PLLC works to establish partnerships that support the provision of mental health services at schools and learning centers. These partnerships center on bringing quality mental health services to students who may not otherwise be able to access mental health care due to various barriers.
Calhoun Psychology PLLC is currently working to establish new partnerships with schools and learning centers. This page will be updated with information on partnerships once they have been established.
Consent & Confidentiality
Caregivers must grant consent for students (minors) to receive services from Calhoun Psychology PLLC, and we encourage caregivers to be involved in their child’s care.
All client information is protected by HIPAA and is only shared with school staff upon receiving written permission from a client/caregiver (or in situations where a child is at risk of harm to self/others or mandated reporting is required). We can coordinate care and support (e.g., accommodations) with a school’s student support team, but should this occur, we discuss the content and purpose of information to be shared with clients/caregivers beforehand.
Interpreter Services
Interpreter services are offered to ensure that all students and caregivers can receive services, regardless of spoken language.
We are delighted to introduce GLOBO as our trusted interpreter service provider! With GLOBO’s innovative platform and extensive network of skilled medical interpreters, we can ensure effective communication and seamless language support for all our clients.
Telehealth Available
Telehealth services are offered to increase our ability to serve caregivers and students when in-person sessions are not possible.
Zoom is our preferred telehealth platform. With its advanced features, reliable performance, and user-friendly interface, Zoom offers a seamless and secure environment for our telehealth services.
Services Offered
Calhoun Psychology PLLC primarily offers individual, family, and group therapy. We also offer psychoeducational evaluations, group therapy, and consultation services to families and school staff, as needed.
Referral Process
Referrals are coordinated by each school’s student support team, which typically includes guidance counselors, social workers, and school administration. Upon receiving a new referral, the assigned clinician from Calhoun Psychology PLLC contacts the client’s caregiver (minors), or client (if 18 years old or older), to discuss services and share all intake paperwork. After this, intake and therapy will proceed.
Caregivers interested in having their child referred for services with Calhoun Psychology PLLC should contact their child’s student support team to submit their request.
School Clinic Team
Our school clinic team includes Licensed Psychologists, Supervised Clinicians (psychology externs and interns), and a Clinic Administrative Assistant.
